★ Review: Mikkeller Sour Bitch

Stoked to try this beer. Mikkeller very rarely disappoints.

Picked this up in a trade. Can’t remember who sent it but very excited to try it! No bottling date. Taken out of the cellar at 55 and poured into a Hill Farmstead Glass.

A – 2-Finger off-white head with big and small bubbles.Decent head lacing. SRM 2.5-3. Color is golden brown like a lot of beers I’ve had lately.

S – What a sour nose. Very intense sour scent with a huge funky yeast profile. I’m getting some dry fruits like apricot and banana chips with a healthy bit of raspberry

T – This is a very sour beer. It’s actually more tart and tongue electrifying bitterness. The beer is bitter but I credit it fully to the Lychee fruits which are known to be very tart.

M – 50/50 carbonation, medium body but not the champagne finish I was expecting. Very nice fruit juice finish with the bitterness that lingers on for a while.

O – Nice beer. Solid and very drinkable.
