This is a weird one. I disabled Cellular Data yesterday while at a music festival because I needed the battery savings. Besides, 50,000 people in one park and the 3G & EDGE service on AT&T goes down anyway so there’s no point in trying to access data while there.
The odd thing is that I kept getting this message ONLY while in the SMS app. I’m not sure why because SMS doesn’t require data service and after the first acknowledgment of this message, I kept getting it each time I unlocked my phone and only after launching the SMS app.
Is AT&T using the data service to send text messages now? It went through with data disabled albeit, really slowly. It went through faster when I enabled 3G. Very odd.
