My Flickr stream has been silent since the 12th and I’ve only posted three entries to this blog in 12 days. Let’s not even go into my lack of tweets. This is certainly not normal and I feel pretty guilty about that.
Just a quick note that I’ve been busy with a couple of things.
I received an iMac finally after being “Mac-less” since August 15th of 2010. It’s good to be ‘home’. Setting it up took a significant amount of time. Syncing iPhone & iPad for the first time in 6 months, dumping 7,000 photos on four SD cards from the past few months into iPhoto (and I still haven’t fully organized them), updating hundreds of apps, software updates, organizing files and re-running SugarSync & Time Machine backups…After all of that, I had a hard drive crash and had to get a new drive installed and had to do it all over again. The iMac still isn’t fully setup. Guess what I’ll be doing this weekend?
Also, work has been busier than usual. Naturally, I can’t say much but it’s been busy in a good way.
Travel is ramping up again after taking 2 months off (aside from Christmas travel). I am 50% confirmed on a trip to India followed by Boston, NYC, Asheville North Carolina and Miami Florida. These are all trips that are happening before March 28th. I may also have a last minute trip to Belgium or Amsterdam in there as well. Yeah, travel is tough and booking it and juggling dates has been rough.
Finally, we’ve had nearly 25-30 inches here in the upper valley of New Hampshire / Vermont in the past 3 weeks. Every time I blink, we’re getting puked on by more snow. Shoveling, keeping the house warm, cleaning and overall house maintenance / car maintenance has been a time sink.

There is some light.
I have 700 photos while Ben Hughes was visiting me last week that should be narrowed down to about 50, edited, processed and online by Monday and a slew of blog posts that should be up next week. Sorry for the delays. It’s just been a bit crazy.
In a final bit of news, I have to say that blogging and long form writing is hard on my Dell laptop and even the iMac. I like laying back on a couch of huge puffy chair with a small MacBook (the keyboard & interface is just nicer than windows or a desktop setup). My blogging workflow has been extremely challenging since selling my MacBook Air back in July. The good news is that my brand new, maxed out 11 inch MacBook Air will be here on Tuesday. I cannot wait to fire it up and browse to my wordpress installation and start writing. Blogging on a computer that’s less than an inch thin with a bouncy keyboard and Mac OS is such a joy. It’s the perfect writer’s machine. I certainly agree with this guy (link). I’m so thrilled that it’s already on a FedEx truck making its way to New Hampshire.
Tomorrow and Sunday’s low temperatures will approach negative 20. That’s not wind chill, that’s the actual temperature. Should be a good weekend!
Happy Friday!
