★ Photo Post – Amsterdam, October 2010

This is the first photo post on my blog that takes advantage of the new wide format that the amazing Tristan Mace setup for me. Basically, I can make photos as large as I want and the site will magically grow. Of course, I have to keep in mind that people may hit the site from an iPod touch or 12″ notebook screen so I’ll keep things at 640×480 which is 1/3 larger than I could do before.

Of the 2,500 photos taken while in Amsterdam, I uploaded 250 after processing. I’ve narrowed that down a bit so you can view the adventure in one single format. These are my favorite photos. The entire set is here.

Enjoy!

  1. I dig the wider look—it def. does the pics more justice. 640 is perfect actually b/c it’s the same as YouTube—you can’t go wrong there. Now Flickr even gives the embed code at that exact size. I am big fan of the The Big Picture too (all photos)—have you seen that before?

    1. I Love the big picture. Fantastic blog. The thing is, at that size, you’ll really start to see the finer details of my photos and it’ll reveal a lot of errors, graininess and blur. 640 is acceptable for photos that suck :P

but yeah, this size is a huge difference from how I used to have things displayed. http://calibersf.com/ that blog is on my “HAWT” list for sure. Really fine work and beautiful presentation of fantastic photos.

I’d like to start another blog where I post one photo each day with a layout like that…one day.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      1. LOL I didn’t about that. I’m diggin Caliber…saw it once and completely forgot about it—thanks for the reminder…I added it to my RSS reader this time. I hear ya’ there’s like 800 things on my ‘one day’ list.
