Tonight was pretty awesome. Three things I must remember to write about at length in the future.
– What if I’m not ready to tell the story until it’s done? There are two types of people. Those that share everything and those that absorb, follow and fall in love with the stories of others. There is rarely someone in the middle who wants to live, never share, never follow and only experience life on their terms. It’s a beautiful things.
-Don’t travel the world and go to exotic locations to meet women (or men). You’ll hear stories that “the girls in LA are so amazing” or “every girl in Amsterdam is HAWT” or “the women in Chile are incredible”. Don’t listen to those stories and don’t buy airfare on a false reality or a perceived reality. Look around you. The person who will help you grow, will fall in love with you and will complete you may be sitting right next to you. Stop reading about “the beautiful women in Australia” and look around.
-The power of laughter, honesty, sincerity and happiness. Those 4 character traits are addictive. Don’t fake them and don’t ignore their power. Find a way to get yourself to the point where those 4 things are natural behavior.
I went out with a stranger tonight. Her name isn’t important. She was a local but mostly, just passing through. She knew the area and I was on an adventure to fall in love with Columbus. She taught me many things but not much about Columbus besides the obvious traveler facts. She taught me much more. This three points summarize what I learned but all three deserve a longer post later on.
To be clear, it wasn’t a date and it wasn’t some sort of thing that would make us into penpals down the road. It was a moment in time when two humans explored a city together and shared a piece of each other through story and laughter. I’m learning more and more to embrace these encounters because, without them, I’m not really living.
Goodnight.
