Picking up drywall supplies after work today.
Picking up drywall supplies after work today.
The beauty of having a bare house is I'm able to run data cable and speaker wire all over the place. It's beautiful. So Beautiful.
As I write this, solar is being installed.
Big day today. Going over to the house to clean and then do some Cat6 punch downs.
Today's lunch salad looks delicious. Needs hot sauce.
Friday! woot. Busy work, busy studying then a relaxing weekend. Actually, my last relaxing weekend before house projects that are on me really start ramping up. Next week, Data cable testing & termination, painting, drywall, electrical downstairs, trash removal, setting up the server rack, weather station, solar, etc.
I woke up today thinking it was saturday. sigh.
Now that my server is finally setup (took about a month), I can finally reliably microblog again. Snowy drive in to work today. I won't be able to move into the house until March now. :(
Everything necessary for the new house server rack is now on-site. This beast is going to be so beautiful and be completely solar powered.
First beer tasting in a while. WOOOOOT
House insulation is done. Weekend starting. W00t.
Image shamelessly stolen from the Internet
I'll be running a setup similar to this soon except on the 60U rack will be all of this equipment except the Synology will be rack-mounted properly and on that shelf will be a printer, Xbox, Wii U, Projector and Yamaha receiver. Basically everything for the home theatre and network will be rack-mounted. Happy day.
Entire site is fine now. Still having issues with analytics to troubleshoot tonight.
We're back! the server is almost back to normal. Hello world.
New Server. Time to make sure everything is working okay.
never mind. looks like we're another week delayed. :(
The house is making some progress. Electrical is started. ventilation this week then insulation. Hoping to have all walls up next week.
It's Thursday. back to work. Honked at a person texting earlier. God the middle finger. It's going to be a good day.
More house problems. A room we thought was fine and didn't need any work? Zero insulation in the walls or ceiling.
Work in full swing. Holiday over, another year over. woot.
'17? i've been out of school for 13 years. jeez.
Quiet week of work but getting a lot of studying done. tomorrow night, going up to Quebec! yay.
Also the house is coming along. Met with the electrician today.
I survived Christmas but now I have a cold. WTF.
Bah-Humbug, back to work tomorrow!
Hey it's Friday!
Feels like Friday
Windows go in next week. Framing done. Exterior door hung. It's Thursday. Hopped up on coffee.
Progress on the house. Very slow. So much for Christmas @ home.
What need doing?
Had a 2L of a 9% Black IPA. Heavenly regret.
Well, despite the furnace working its ass off and the temps staying high, I still had a pipe burst but not from cold, it just broke and luckily, the pipe only fauceted for about an hour before I got back from the store and turned off the water and it stopped. My contractor is to blame as they were playing with the hot water heater to remove it tomorrow. Their tools are soaked, no standing water....no more than 20 gallons. So Happy I caught it.
YAY Friday! I hope my house pipes survived the -10 Degree temps last night.
My house which currently has no insulation due to construction blew through $300 worth of Propane in 2 weeks. Thanks contractor.
Did pretty much nothing this weekend. Very relaxing. Now, snow day so I'm stuck @ home.
woohooo it's the weekend
It's Friday. Hoping to get some car stuff done this weekend.
My TV has pop-up ads. This is like Netzero but instead of the TV being free w/ ads, instead I am paying $1800 for the privilege of seeing stupid ads.
It's been 2 months since I bought this house. The only thing my contractor has done is remove walls.
I've moved from one desk to another @ the office. Finally all setup and ready to start my day.
The new TV is stupid. It's not OLED but it's still a nice upgrade.
Friday. Study day.
DirecTV Now on AppleTV is pretty amazing.
The solar is designed! It looks so beautiful.
My old house is now completely empty. Time to organize the temporary living and wait for my contractor to finish so I can move into my new place.
I have been completely underwater with things going on since I got back from th is trip. Setting up a new house, moving, new role @ work, studying for PMP test, cleaning my old place. It has been non stop and winter is here.
I filled up 4 U-Haul UBoxes this weekend. yay?
Hey, it's Larry Csonka
Tomorrow, I spend all day packing and preparing to move.
Solar Panels ordered for January install. Range hood ordered, propane setup, furnace serviced. construction started. so much.
Back at work. Nice vacation.
Last full day in Florida before heading home.
still 3 full days in Florida let to have fun. woot!
I'm safely in florida. I don't really post things from my phone so couldn't update you guys.
Made it down to PA tonight. Getting too cold to keep going. Worked half a day at work so day one was just a warm up really. time to read and rest.
I pack tonight for my road trip that starts tomorrow. 1700-2100 miles on my bike from NH to FL. Setting the TomTom to winding roads.
Ordered kitchen appliances. Feeling like an adult.
The car does not drive any differently but $700 later, every single fluid inside was drained & filled.
My car is getting the royal treatment today. Trans fluid, oil, haldex fluid, spark plugs, air filter cleaning, winter tires.
9 days until my road trip. gotta keep my carpal tunnel under control.
...Heather's new car is awesome. That is all. I think with a larger turbo and coilovers, we can take it to Wookies in the woods. Just needs a VR6 drop-in.
Played with the record player all weekend. It's awesome. Left - channel from the pre-amp isn't working though :(
12.086 1/4 mile.
Heather bought a car.
New Michelin PSS is on. hopefully my rear axle doesn't mind the different size.
Reserved my cabin for Wookies in the Woods 2017. Excite!
Watched Sinister 2. Not as good as part 1. Rob Zombies Halloween remake = aces.
Tire update. Not repairable. $210 for a replacement Tire + $40 to mount, balance. Sigh. I also forgot to ask Tire-Rack to shave down the tire to fit my other 3.
Luckily, the tire is likely repairable. We'll see.
On my way to the drag-strip, I had the TPMS light come on. Nail in the tire :( Made it back to my home-town and parked it at the tire shop. Sigh.
finally ordered a record player.
5 YouTube videos done tonight, new Flickr photos uploaded, watching Twitch and writing about my FHA loan process.
Back at work. Adjusted my budget last night. Money is much tighter after this house purchase.
Whoa, I have tomorrow off.
Montreal was a blast. I'm finally closing on the house this week...then begins the 6 week process of gutting the inside and starting over.
It is Friday. Yay.
The dog destroyed my $330 kilt while I was at work today.
I absolutely hate modern gaming. I get home at 5:15 and it's 7PM and my new game (Forza Horizon 3) is still installing on the Xbox One. I bought the disk, just finished the install and now there's a 4.3 gigabyte update.
Modern video games are awful.. Remember the excitement of getting a new game, rushing home and playing it? That's gone. I'm going to curtail my excitement, go make dinner and play the game tomorrow. What a shit-show. You know how sad I am right now that I've been sitting here reading for 2 hours and still can't play the game.
On another note, it was 32F this morning. My coldest ride on the motorcycle was 19F, or 35F for 4 hours but this was pretty chilly, more frustrating that it's only september!
Had a total blast in Boston. 80 beers on day one, 70 on day 2 (maybe more). About 2 hours of voice notes to transcribe this week during evening time (yawn).
Friday. Work almost over for the weekend.
The new Apple Watch is insanely fast or Watch OS 3 is just THAT good. I think a mix of the two. This is remarkable. Everything is instantly available, quick, load times are gone. Amazing.
