It’s early on Tuesday so I’m doing what I can to get this post up before the madness begins

This exercise isn’t so that I can extoll on you all some great virtues or advice. The intention is to get back in the habit of thinking about my blog and getting that feeling of “I should write this down” instead of letting it pass. In some ways, YouTube has augmented a bit of this for me because there’s less friction in recording but then when I actually have to edit the video, all of the time savings go out the window. Then there are user forums where I often see something and respond to it but then it’s gone forever. It’s an impermanent ego stroke and not frozen in time like this blog. There are pros and cons to that. Photography though has outlasted it all. My first digital photos exist before I started the first blog on LiveJournal and have been consistent throughout. my Flickr page only goes back to 2005 but with 29K published photos, it’s the greatest record of my life from high school to today.

The blog and its many forms have been the start of every great moment in my life. I can find each post that kicks off every major change in my life and that’s worth preserving but I can’t pretend that this blog no longer has a place in my life and I have to continue contributing or else I lose the narrative. Too late on that one, the narrative definitely had a sailing ship about 2 years ago when I pulled back from more personal posts and began linking to things and giving tech / motorcycle opinions. Perhaps a better way here would be to do a 2-years style of posts. Two years of my time at my day job, 2 years at my new side-gig and 2 years of photography, Vlogging, motorcycles, cars, beer, coffee, vinyl, time with Heather and my 2019 ‘self improvement’ work that’s been taking place quite successfully.

Maybe I’ll start that tomorrow and see how long I can keep it up. A couple of weeks of reflection would be good for me.

Life happened well more like work happened and all waking hours on Sunday & Monday were spent working.…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[6

0":"post-8084","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-life","7":"cs-entry","8":"cs-video-wrap
via Internet History Podcast: (read the entire post) Two big life events happened in our family in the last 6 months: we moved to our current apartment from another one a couple blocks away.
