class=\"wp-caption-text\">A gueuze tasting I attended in February at a boy&#8217;s dormitory in Ghent Belgium. Everyone was like 16-17 years old (legal drinking age in Belgium). Still a fun evening.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A year ago, <a href=\"http:\/\/adam-jackson.net\/beer\/reviews-12-months-of-beer-top-100-sampled\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">I wrote about sampling the top 100 beers in the world<\/a>. I had 25 of the top 50 beers on RateBeer and 60 of the top 100 BeerAdvocate beers. I mentioned though that this was without really trying to sample top beers and happened organically. The same thing was the case this year. In 2013, I did normal drinking and didn\u2019t try to tick \u2018em all. I also traded less for top beers and sort of drank whatever was at tastings or available to me. I\u2019m writing this first part not knowing how I did so let\u2019s take a look.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks <a href=\"http:\/\/thefuj.com\/2014\/01\/08\/beeradvocate-top-100\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fuj<\/a> for reminding me to look bad on the last 2 years in beer by seeing how many of the top beers I had a chance to try in this short time as a ticker.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012 &amp; 2013:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px; color: #3b3b3b; font-size: 13px; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Verdana; line-height: 20px;\"><a style=\"color: #cc362e;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ratebeer.com\/beer\/top-50\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" data-jsb_prepared=\"enivsuqwyt\" target=\"_blank\">RateBeer Top 50<\/a>: I\u2019ve had 35 of the top 50 beers on RateBeer. \u00a0(an increase from 25 last year)<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px; color: #3b3b3b; font-size: 13px; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Verdana; line-height: 20px;\"><a style=\"color: #cc362e;\" href=\"http:\/\/beeradvocate.com\/lists\/popular\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" data-jsb_prepared=\"zgnqbampom\" target=\"_blank\">Beer Advocate Top 100 (Most Popular)<\/a>: I\u2019ve had 90 of the top 100 beers on Beer Advocate (an increase from 60 as of last year)<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px; color: #3b3b3b; font-size: 13px; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Verdana; line-height: 20px;\">This year, it\u2019s way easier to type out the beers on BA\u2019s top 100 that I HAVEN\u2019T had because there are so few now. Interestingly enough, I\u2019ve had Morning Delight, Prairie Bomb, Atrial, Hunaphu\u2019s Brandy barrel offered to me for Hill Farmstead but I haven\u2019t taken them up on it because I\u2019m just not trading as much. Finally trading for a Cable Car would be cool but I really don\u2019t want to put up the beers needed to get it. That\u2019s probably the only beer I really want to try but would require sending out HFS beers for which I don\u2019t want to do anymore.
