What does that mean? It means that upon the dissolution of the marriage, one spouse generally makes off like a bandit, while the other is pushed into a life of unending poverty, abridged civil rights, and being two paychecks away from arrears, contempt, and prison.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A bleak statement that doesn\u2019t apply to a quarter of the marriages but, to the majority it does seem like the current reality especially if you\u2019re young and live in a city where your earning potential is not quite realized and you have choices.<\/p>\n<p>I have issue with some of the things said but I like this pre-marriage perspective. If you\u2019re going to get married, give this a read for a bit of perspective. Many people will be married for life. Most will not.
