I switched Auto Insurance companies last week. State Farm was charging me $1400 a year for Auto Insurance. I\u2019ve never had a speeding ticket, accident or any moving violation outside of a few paid-up parking tickets. Yet, State Farm had me in a very high price bracket. They said I\u2019m saving 30% a year because I\u2019m a safe driver and have had no lapse in auto coverage but they wouldn\u2019t lower the rates any more. I\u2019ve been with them for 5 years.<\/p>\n

I shopped around with Geico and Progressive. Geico was $200 cheaper per year at around $1200. Progressive wanted to charge me $800 a year and that\u2019s with the same coverage as State Farm and a $0 deductible on comprehensive (I had $500 with State Farm). I switched to Progressive Direct last week and I\u2019m saving $600 a year on insurance.<\/p>\n

Geico has emailed me 4 times asking me to finish my rate quote and switch to them. Their emails contain no way to unsubscribe which I\u2019m pretty sure is illegal. I did find a Geico Opt-Out page which has resolved the email issue for now:\u00a0http:\/\/optout.geico.com\/OptOut\/index.jsp<\/p>\n

I logged into Google Voice today and found in my SPAM folder that Geico has called me from\u00a018663450281 number asking me to finalize the quote. I\u2019ve blocked them from calling me again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is the most aggressive sales I\u2019ve ever gone through with an Insurance company. Geico needs to leave me alone. If they continue calling, I\u2019ll phone them and ask them to stop but I doubt it will help.
