The Taiwan-based supply chain for Apple products will begin shipments of new 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch MacBook Air models featuring Sandy Bridge platform and Thunderbolt interface in late May for launch in June or July, according to makers in the supply chain. While Apple’s PR representatives in Taiwan have neither confirmed nor responded to the report, it has long been understood that Apple always keeps silent about its new products not yet launched, the sources emphasized.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If the MacBook Air 11″ Gets Sandy Bridge & ThunderBolt in July, I’m tapping into my savings to buy it. I\u00a0purchased\u00a0an 11″ MacBook Air in February and, 4 months later, I’d sell it at a 50% loss and buy the new one.<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Because, the MacBook Air is already blowing me away in portability, function, speed and aesthetics. It’s form AND function in a $999 package. Everyone that sees or uses it is amazed and stuck with jealousy at how fast and small it is.<\/p>\n

50% speed increases, Thunderbolt and whatever else Apple adds will be welcome and will make the MBA that much better.
