\u00a0Cellar Reserve \u201913 Release. Enjoyed at 60F in a stemmed wine glass.<\/div>\n
A – Appearance is cloudy and burnt orange. Nice 2 finger head, sticky lacing throughout.<\/div>\n
S – Nose has oranges, cloves, lacto yeast and other citrus notes. There\u2019s a lot of funk with some lemon peel and ropey qualities and just a hint of tropical notes.<\/div>\n
T – Taste big and dry. Starts sweet and citrus like, taste up front is very similar to a Gueuze. In the middle, you get a big oaky sour taste with orange peel. The finish is a boozy, bourbon taste and burn. It tastes like a 10% beer and not a 7% beer.<\/div>\n
M – Dry, smooth, medium body, really fills the mouth with carbonation<\/div>\n
O – Overall, it\u2019s drinkable and delicious but the whiskey comes through very strong. I might like the standard version more if it was as sour as this. I have 3 more of these so maybe I’lll wait a bit before cracking the rest open. I love the Gueuze like qualities in this beer but the whiskey is something added that doesn’t need to be there.<\/div>\n
