I\u2019m so blown away by how efficiently the crews have worked. Week one was a 4 day week and this week was a full 5 days with the crews being onsite daily from 8-4. They did a fantastic job and kept us on schedule. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Week two included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The addition is fully dug out now with 50 feet deep and 2 stories tall space (about 300 cubic yards of soil removed or 30 dump trucks)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They have dug down nearly 3 feet from the footings of my existing foundation which means I can have an 8 foot garage door and 9\u2019 ceilings in the garage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This also means we can drop down my driveway 1 foot from where it is today enabling great drainage toward the road and he right angles to make everything look perfect when it\u2019s done. (Or so I\u2019m told)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Redi-Rock wall was completed on Thursday backfilled with 6 loads of gravel and 2 loads of fine aggregate which will enable pavers to be installed within the next 2 weeks. Pavers will go to the very edge of the rock walls for an \u201cinfinity wall\u201d look and instead of 350 square feet which is what we estimated for patio, it\u2019ll be about 500 square feet just based on how everything came together<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They prepared post holes in the Redi-Rock for fencing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The walk up to the back yard was smoothened a bit and will be a more gradual increase to make it easier to get up into the back yard since steps to the yard aren\u2019t in the budget<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The back area has been excavated but not fully yet. They plan to dig down a foot but are only 25% done with this but the back yard will be totally flat before fencing is done and a few more trees dropped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4-6 loads of gravel were brought in to my addition area now that we\u2019ve dug down to prepare for concrete forms that get built next week (we\u2019re on schedule for concrete pouring the Monday after Thanksgiving)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So we\u2019re 2 weeks in and ready for forms &amp; concrete, Pavers, fencing and remainder of the hardscaping work. Trusses have been ordered (they\u2019re 6 weeks out) which should align with the new addition being framed and additional work where the roof comes off and all of the framing and windows get done in anticipation for the new roof. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We could have a couple of weeks of no activities if the Trusses take long but that\u2019s alright. January will still be the start of interior work and maybe some HVAC work can be prepped in December (mini-split compressors and 2 heads in the basement \/ garage) along with the 200 amp electricity upgrade which can take place before framing is done as well as some of the basement finishing framing and plumbing in anticipation for the half bath in the basement. Lots of stuff can happen while we await the roofing system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okay, I\u2019m rambling now.
