For the same reason I have other blogs, content posted here is because it&#8217;s fun to share things I&#8217;ve learned about home brewing, great beers I&#8217;ve had and travel adventures that beer has taken me. That&#8217;s why I do it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>2012 was been an amazing year. I learned so much and met some very cool people in this community. A few days ago, I posted a note on <a href=\"https:\/\/adamchandler.me\/blog\/2013\/01\/11\/reviews-12-months-of-beer-top-100-sampled\/\">trying the top 100 beers<\/a> and how many were tasted in 2012. Most notably, it was really cool to have the chance to try these while not having a tasting group for most of the year. These were bottles I got myself without really trying to get them. Seeking out beer is very stressful so I don&#8217;t play those games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, after posting that, I received messages from 3 people who read the blog. It looks like I&#8217;ll get to try these beers in 2013 through trades that were generated on this blog. How freaking cool is that?\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\">23 Dark Horse Bourbon Barrel Aged Plead The 5th<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\">57 Imperial Eclipse Stout &#8211; Elijah Craig (20 Year)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\">65 Churchill&#8217;s Finest Hour 2012<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\">73 Bell&#8217;s Bourbon Barrel Aged Batch 9000<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\">88 Bourbon Barrel Aged Hi-Fi Rye<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\">It seems like if I want to try any Barrel Aged Dark Lord variants, I&#8217;ll have to go after them myself. That&#8217;s a shame but understandable. These are great beers and pretty rare from what I hear. <\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\">Also via this blog, I met a guy named Ry who is going to teach me how to wash and store yeast. He lives an hour or so\u00a0north\u00a0of me and this will help me save some money because buying\u00a0yeast\u00a0packs gets expensive adding about $7 to every beer I brew. Also via this blog, I met some other local New Hampshire guys who want to start a small tasting group in the lakes regions, another guy who wanted to set\u00a0up a bottle dregs sharing. So many wonderful opportunities that come to me because of the passion I show on\u00a0this blog.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Grande';\">This is why I blog. It&#8217;s why a lot of us blog. We like to share what we learn, what we experience and a lot of times,\u00a0opportunities\u00a0arise through sharing. Sharing prolifically my beer experiences has made me look like a fool, a d-bag, an a-hole and someone who is terrible with having a budget but the pros outweigh the cons when it comes to sharing this experience with others.
