Growing up, I heard about the women in far away lands. I heard about the easy-going girls in California (damn you, Katy Perry) and the fashionable girls in New York and the sexy Europeans and beautiful Australian women but nothing compares to girls from Russia. Girls in the southern US have that southern sweet attitude but women in the midwest are sweet and sexy but not to be outdone by the cute quirkiness of women from Japan but, wait. Don’t forget about the romantics in Paris and Italian beauties.<\/p>\n

Yes, there are always better women 500 miles away.<\/p>\n

This perpetuated rule is starting to bother me. The fact that most men and media would have you think that the best and most beautiful women in the world are WHERE YOU ARE NOT is an all out lie. I wanted to write this post last year or the year before. Heck, this post has been on my mind since the first time I drove 5 hours to Miami when I was 19 years old for a music festival. I waited until I had been to Europe and the mid-west. I waited to see what I was missing.<\/p>\n

Not much.<\/p>\n

In fact, I’ve met some incredible and amazing women in my home town. The woman I was with for 5 years I met in Florida. I have gone on dates with and befriended some terrific women in San Francisco but some were from Boulder or Los Angeles or Seattle. One was even an exchange student from Russia and I’m best friends with all of those girls now.<\/p>\n

I went out with a girl while in Ohio but it wasn’t really a date. I spent the weekend with a beautiful women who is also a friend of mine while in Las Vegas for Blogworld and chatted with dozens of women in Amsterdam about life, culture, Europe, travel and men. After 4 hours of talking with this girl in a bar in Amsterdam, she was so excited about visiting the US one day. Her name was Claudia and I asked why she won’t go now and she responded, “I’m not 21 yet.” When I asked how old she was, she responded “16”. Later, my coworker said, “why did you stop talking to that girl? she was gorgeous!” My friend was was in his 30s also had that same jaw drop when I told her his age. We both had a laugh and I got a kiss on the cheek from a girl that was 3 years older than my sister. Yes, that was not my finest moment.<\/p>\n

I’ve gone out with girls here in New Hampshire \/ Vermont as well. Cute and amazing girls who are enjoyable to talk with and the conversation is always exciting.<\/p>\n

Still, my point remains that if there are more beautiful girls 500 miles east, why aren’t people flocking to those areas in droves? The truth is, the world is a global community now. People travel, they move, they go to school in other countries and some settle down thousands of miles from where they were born. We’re all walking among people who’s families are from other countries. It’s very diverse in America and you can never fall for the trap that your town doesn’t have someone who could be your soul mate or be considered “beautiful”.<\/p>\n

Articles like this really piss me off<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I had dinner with a man from Russia and another from Sweden while in Amsterdam. You want to know what they asked me? “I hear the women in America are so beautiful! Hollywood? New York? LA? Please tell me, are they as beautiful as I hear?” Why, yes they are! That’s the thing about men. We always want to explore and conquer and something inside of us is never satisfied with the girl next door, the girl who has always been there, the girl who is beautiful and sweet and real and smart enough to wow you every day. She’s loving and honest and sincere. She’ll steal your heart and your kisses. She’ll be your lover and your friend. She’s right next door. She’s always been there.<\/p>\n

While you’re in Sweden or Ukraine or South Africa, she’ll be next door to your apartment, right across the hall. I think it’s time we open our eyes and realize that beautiful women are everywhere.
