This should be done every 20K miles on your Volkswagen or sooner if you live on dirt-roads. I change mine roughly every 15K for this reason. The part is cheap and can be picked up at ECSTuning or through your local dealer. Once you have the part number that fits your car, it’s easy to shop around for the lowest price.
