How iTunes Behaves Once Apple Music is Cancelled

The songs I added to my library while my Apple Music Subscription was active are in my library but I’m unable to play them.

That’s a pretty smart message. The thing is, I have two different file types in my library from Apple Music tracks:
  • AAC Audio File
  • Apple Music AAC audio file

Both give an error message. The Apple Music AAC Audio File shows the error above but the regular AAC Audio files shows:

The solution was obviously deleting all music “added to my library” since Apple Music was released. Basically, losing your subscription does nothing on Apple’s part to clean up all of the playlists and saved tracks. It’s like they want to remind you just how alone you are without Apple Music and I guess that’s a good idea because it makes resubscribing very easy because to get those songs & playlists back, just pay $9.99, right?

The best thing is the delete songs window. Am I sure I want to do this?

:)

I was wondering how Apple would handle cancellations and now we know. If you cancel temporarily, since Apple Music is so tightly integrated with iTunes, a great portion of your library may be crippled until you re-subscribe or manually remove all songs and playlists that you added from Apple Music while your subscription was active.
