I first started using Amazon when I was 22, in 2003. I don’t have many specific memories from this awkward transition into adulthood; in a pre-Facebook world, it was much easier to forget life’s little moments, especially the painful ones I had no interest in remembering.
I’ve been wanting to do this for a very long time. I linked to a piece a few months ago breaking down Amazon purchases and I started going through mine. Unlike the writer, my first Amazon purchase was only in 2004 but I was also 16 then.
My first purchase was Aikido and the Harmony of Nature and the second was The O.C. – The Complete First Season. It would be fun to go through all of these but would take a day of work copying and pasting and explaining every purchase. I buy everything on Amazon.
Some purchases are embarrassing like the fact I paid $52 for a 2 gigabyte memory card in 2005 but most of it is normal purchases. I’ll get around to doing that one-day.
