★ Review: A Collection of Bottled Lambic Beers

Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2012-14

Myself and 4 friends ordered these bottles simultaneously at the Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2012. I wanted to put them all as separate reviews but that’s a lot of new posts to clog up the feed of readers so here goes a nice digest.

De Cam Kriek Lambik – January 2009

3.8

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 16/20

adamjackson (351) – Canaan, USA – JUN 4, 2012

bottled January 2009

A – 2 finger rose red head. Gorgeous beer! Grape juice or something purple to burgundy.

S – Very faint. Hard to pick up. Wild fruits. Minor malt

T – Minor sweetness. Majority is huge krieks taste. Earthy almost tree branch taste. Dirty and cherry taste.

M – 20% carbonation. Dry fleeting finish. Light body

O – 79/100 needs more sweet more sour. More wild. It’s just a kriek wine. More like a wine than a beer.

T – Gigantic sour in your face. Amazing! Peaches, pears, vinegar

M – covers your entire tongue with tart 50/50 carbonation. Insanely dry finish.

O – Remarkable. Worth the price? Probably not. Still, an upgrade to the standard oude gueuze
