★ Home is Wherever I’m With You

Jessica Roy speaking on the fear and excitement of moving in with a boy for the first time:

Now that I am living with someone I love, I have to learn to fold his idiosyncrasies and quirks into my own way of doing things. He is a veritable litter robot, leaving change and little scraps of paper wherever he goes, so I am constantly picking up dimes and old receipts from odd places. His baby grand piano takes up approximately 3/4ths of our bedroom; dishes pile up in the sink at a disgraceful rate. “Thank you for tolerating me,” he says with a wry smile. I used to say, “I’m not tolerating you, I love you!” but now I just say, “YOU’RE WELCOME.”

I’ve been reading Jessica’s blog for nearly a year. A New Yorker turned San Franciscan who blogs the emotions and cyclones of life through her eyes. I rarely read “girly blogs” but her’s is a winner. Highly recommended.
